The Van Raay meeting rooms at CERES were recently home to the first ever B Lab Australia & New Zealand Leadership Development Day.

B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab, to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. There is a growing community of more than 1,600 Certified B Corps from 42 countries working together toward redefining success in business…  At CERES we were excited to welcome people from some truly awesome businesses we recognised such as KeepCup and Patagonia.

The flexibility of our sustainably designed meeting and conference space was used for maximum impact throughout this one day event, transitioning from a single plenary space into two and then three workshop spaces. Attendees networked and collaborated, sharing ideas and practices on how to do better business both socially and environmentally.

Over 40 participants took up the offer to tour CERES on their lunch break, getting to know more about our environmental education programs, the development of our site from park to urban oasis, and our own social enterprises in action.

The day finished with a few drinks and toasted marshmallows around the fireplace outside the Merri Table, adding to that farm-y feel, even though we are right in the city.
