Australia Communities Road Trip
We’re heading out on a local journey, connecting with alternative, sustainable, and indigenous communities, and our incredible natural environment.
In Jan 2018, join CERES Global on a local Victoria/NSW journey connecting to land, community, and a sustainable future. We’ll visit existing alternative communities, important indigenous sites, forests, and beaches; we’ll share stories and learn from locals about indigenous knowledge, sustainability, permaculture, living off-grid, and what it means to create and live in community.
I found this trip earthy, awakening and fun. Would recommend it highly! (Jonathan, Aus Trip 2017)
We’ll travel via coaster bus, setting up our own camping accommodation along the way. When visiting communities we’ll make a contribution to current projects and get involved in return for some sit down conversations about the triumphs and challenges faced. We’ll eat local produce, learn local ways, and connect with inspirational people spending just a few nights in each location.
Departing from CERES in east Brunswick, we’ll head north to Kyneton and across to Castlemaine to meet our local hosts. We’ll head further west to spend a few days on Abundance farm, and head up through the temperate grasslands of central Victoria to Boort and visit DjarDjarWurrung mob talking dance, waterways and land. From Boort we travel to the Alpine region and Yackendandah community energy initiative, and all the way round to the Bega Bend Neighbourhood community and the NSW coast. From there we’re heading southwards and in the direction of home via the newly established Wurruk’an community of Gippsland and the lakes region. Returning to CERES by the evening of day 10.
