Presentation of the final detailed design by Philomena Manifold and Phillip Pender.

Attended by Sophia Spring, Melbourne Zen, Melbourne Insight, CERES Site Team and the general public.

The day started with a warm introduction from Nick Curmi followed by a guided meditation led by Sieta Beckwith. Standing on the Earth, in front of the Learning Centre we all felt the ground beneath us, the connection to place and settled into a sense of gratitude for CERES and the cultivation of this new meditation garden.
After connecting to place we headed back inside for the presentation of the final plans and drawings of the Meditation Garden. A mock-up of the pond was tested and the reflective qualities of light within the space added to the celebratory feel of the day. After questions and the gathering of emails for future working bees, the group enjoyed drinks and nibbles.
The Meditation Garden will be a curated space that uses the senses to cultivate calm, serenity and reflectiveness – a place for both private and group spiritual practice. It will transform the space in front of the Learning Centre into a beautiful, peaceful and tranquil space that will be enjoyed by all ages.
