An elegant, sustainably-designed set of meeting rooms, with lots of natural light and access to four hectares of parkland, the meeting rooms enable groups to connect, talk, think, plan and process change in the best way. Perched on top of a generation’s waste (CERES was once a landfill site, now urban oasis), the Van Raay Centre is a place of transformation and represents the story of the regeneration of CERES’ land.

The centre houses four meeting rooms available to hire in different sizes and configurations, suitable for 2-100 people. We can even ask the chooks to keep it down for you! Read on for room availability, capacity and layouts.

The Van Raay Centre was born from the generosity of passionate CERES supporters and 10 years of dreaming.

Room Layouts

Capacities depend on room setups. See our CERES_Venues_Meeting Rooms_Capacities for layout options.

  • Room 2: Capacity for up to 12pax
  • Room 3: Capacity for up to 25pax
  • Room 4: Capacity for up to 30pax
  • Room 2+3: A slightly larger space than Room 4 – Rooms 2 and 3 combined
  • Room 3+4: Rooms 3 and 4 combined
  • Room 1 (2+3+4): Our conference style room – all three meeting rooms combined into one large open space, with capacity for up to 100 guests in theatre style seating. You are also welcome to book all three rooms as seperate or in combination, for breakout spaces.

Availability

“Room 1” comprises rooms 2, 3 and 4. If any of those rooms are booked then “Room 1” is not available.
The Lower Merri is in a separate building located next door to the Community Kitchen.

The Merri Cafe provides organic, fresh & delicious catering to daytime room hirers and for functions and events by request. Catering options for outside these hours are by arrangement. Contact the Merri Cafe directly for catering inquiries, in conjunction with venue hire.
