Our hearts ache for all the people of the Middle East. Targeting of civilians is a war crime, no matter who does it. CERES supports calls for an immediate ceasefire and for urgent humanitarian aid to be delivered.
At the root of the environmental crisis is a story of separation from which extractive systems arise: colonisation; globalisation; industrial agriculture; fossil fuel technologies. These are some of the same systems that underpin wars.
CERES calls on our community to show compassion for all our fellow humans, especially towards Muslim, Jewish, Palestinian and Israeli community members who are directly affected.
