Meditation Garden Volunteer

The CERES Meditation Garden is in its first stages of development and needs your help! Please use the form on this page to register to participate in community working bees to build this exciting and much-needed space. We welcome anyone of any age and ability.

Supervision will be provided on the site by a CERES staff member and appointed volunteers.

By registering you confirm that you are available and willing to participate in working bee events. Once registered, please let us know which working bee you are able to attend by RSVPing to our Facebook events.

Please note: Dates for working bees in 2020 will be confirmed late January.

The garden is a practical response to the needs of its users – the large open spaces and smaller private areas of the garden create areas for educational activities and private reflection. Through research into spiritual/contemplative gardens and extensive consultation with Melbourne Zen, Sophia’s Spring, CERES Education and Habitat team, a clear picture of everyone’s needs was established and an idea of the garden was developed. The garden will be restorative, sensory and practical. In particular there will be a focus on providing shared areas of meaning that cross all religious and spiritual modalities. This garden will be a curated space that uses the senses to cultivate calm, serenity and reflectiveness – a place for both private and group spiritual practice.

Support the CERES Meditation Garden

In order to realise the vision of the Meditation Garden, we require financial support in addition to volunteer support… If you would like to further assist the development of the CERES Meditation Garden, please consider donating.
