CERES Grocery and Bakery

CERES Grocery and Bakery

Nestled within the community park on top of the hill, overlooking the Honey Lane Market Garden is the CERES Grocery and Bakery, offering a unique, urban farm shopping experience in inner suburban Melbourne.

The CERES Grocery is a fresh organic fruit and vegetable grocery providing locally grown food, organic products and bulk foods with a focus on sustainability and local producers.

The Bakery and Cafe are nestled within the Grocery and are open 9am-3.30pm every day. Our delicious organic sourdough is baked fresh every morning, using unique heirloom and ancient grains that are easy on sensitive stomachs, and that support biodiversity. The cafe also serves our homemade organic fresh pastries, sandwiches and other goodies, as well as barista coffees and teas.

Read more about our Head Baker, Alex here and find CERES Bakery bread available to purchase online through CERES Fair Food.

Weekends at the Grocery

Every weekend you can find bands playing from 10.30am-12.30pm and the Makers and Flea Market from 10am. Have a cuppa and an organic croissant whilst the band belts out some tunes, meet the local craft producers who sell their wares every weekend and say hello to our delightful chooks.

Cheese and mushroom toastie was absolutely delicious. Neither the bread nor mushroom was tough so every bite was clean and didn't pull the toastie apart. Partner's gluten free cheese toastie was much the same

A really nice organic grocery. A good selection of produce and bring-your-own-container cleaning products. The cafe makes a selection of hot drinks and sandwiches etc.

A fantastic way to spend a few hours on the weekend. Great coffee and the new kid's playground is amazing.

Not huge on variety but high on quality. Definitely the place to get fruit and veg from while your kids play in the sand pit. The temptation treats at the register will be hard to resist and being able to get a decent coffee before or after is a breed experience that your typical Coles or Woolies run.

For the eco conscious person this is like paradise. You can find mostly everything here. A bit pricey but if you have a bit extra to throw its great to throw it here. Bring your own bags and jars to fill up on the self serve dried foodstuff or cleaning products.
