The Merri Cafe boasts a seasonally changing menu, which showcases our favourite organic, local food and drinks and supports our local farmers and producers, including produce grown at CERES Honey Lane Market Garden. As always, we celebrate growing, cooking, eating and learning together – putting food back at the centre of our table to create community and support community food systems.
Our Head Chef, Hemi Rakei Reidy has 15 years on Melbourne’s fine dining scene. Hemi‘s food combines power and patience, realising wholeness both on plate, and in process. His focus on farm and sea to table draws from his Maori roots and values locality, seasonality, and comprehensive use. Hemi‘s cooking fronts his belief that, from pit to peel, everything has its place. When not diving or foraging, Hemi is owner and consulting chef of Brunswick’s True North, and lead chef at the Merri Cafe.
