The Merri Cafe boasts a seasonally changing menu, which showcases our favourite organic, local food and drinks and supports our local farmers and producers, including produce grown at CERES Honey Lane Market Garden. As always, we celebrate growing, cooking, eating and learning together – putting food back at the centre of our table to create community and support community food systems.
Hemi signs off his emails with he waka eke noa – we are all in this canoe together. He’s the guy moving swiftly around the Merri kitchen wearing many different hats and – incredibly – always a grin on his face.
Hemi profoundly personifies one of CERES core values – radical generosity. Not only are his dishes rich with seasonal produce and a diverse range of flavours, but his commitment to community is radically loving and affirming. Everyone has a seat at Hemi’s table. His focus on farm to table values locality, seasonality, and comprehensive use – from pit to peel, everything has its place.
